Situated in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, Cyprus is the third biggest island in the Mediterranean Sea. The climate is hot in summer and mild in the winter. The population is just under one million spread over an area of 3,600 km squared. There are many miles of beachfront and rocky coast, and there is a mountain range called Troodos which peaks at 1952m squared where skiing takes place in the early months of the year. The languages are Greek, Turkish and English, and the currency is the Turkish Lira in the North and the Euro in the South. |
